Artisan du Plancher did some very nice work restoring our 1931 red oak floors. Despite them being in fairly rough shape, they restored them in a way that allows for a beautiful "new vintage" look. They were flexible in their booking times, and competitive in their pricing. There was fair bit of dust, but that's to be expected given how much of the floor had to be hand-sanded rather than done with a dustless system. Very skilled workers, would highly recommend them.

When their office first took my request for a quote, no one came to my house to actually see what needed to be done, and I was not offered any specific product/colour for the floor. My assumption was, like I'd seen with other contractors, that they would review the quote onsite when they started. When the work team came, they realized that there was more work to do than anticipated. They said they could do it all in quoted timeline. This, as it turned out, meant that they were going to mix up the teams and rush through the work: patchy sanding, visible scratches in the wood, debris caught under the varnish (dirt from by the door, hair, bits of sanded wood). On their last day, they left the house with the door unlocked and did not call me to let me know they had left. The house stayed unlocked for hours.I had booked them to come back but they did not properly schedule the right team so I ended up having to wait 2 weeks to have the touch ups done... unfortunately that meant not moving any furniture back onto the floor... of my entire main floor. Finally, when they did come back, they did not level out the sanding nor did they address the scratches in the wood (big circular scratches all over the living room and kitchen). They sent a new team, that looked at the work, fully agreed with me that there were significant defaults but that they were not the work team... I was livid. I waited so long to clear this up and they had made a scheduling error. When a final team came - more than a month after all this started, they were told by the office not to fix the scratches in the wood, they fixed only a few of the smaller issues. The quality of the varnish is mediocre; there are splashes on my walls and globs of varnish in various areas. I am really disappointed - it felt like we were a burden to them from the first instance. I have attached only 3 photos but there were quite a few more examples.Edited: now, a month later, between the larger planks, the varnish is splitting. It looks pretty bad.
Just finish getting our floors done with this company and we have nothing but good to say. The efficiency and professional work of these guys were exceptional. In addition the office were very accommodating and easy to deal with. Will recommend 100%
