So, one day you might find yourself buying a 100 year old home and you love it, but it gives you challenges. Please trust Jamie and his team to tackle the tough parts! I did all the tough things before I handled the kitchen floor (or, the root of all evil) Jamie and his team took care of all that for me. His installers, his front desk, absolutely every member of the Parkland crew made me feel like i could go to my job and do my thing and they would take care of my silly problems. Then I came home one day and the kitchen that I hoped for (for 3 years, after putting off the most basic of renovation chores & handling them in the most backward scheduling) and I was speechless.Despite my lack of professional scheduling Parkland made my last "little (not little)"project a thing in the rear view. I am on cloud 9.
we purchased bathroom tile and flooring from parkland, along with some supplies. They advised that we should should order an extra package of flooring material based on our measurements (We shouldn't trust salespeople, I guess). The freight costs were ridiculous and when the extra box was not required, they would not let me return it for a refund. They practically laughed in face and said with a return charge and freight, that we would owe them money. this is not what the salesman told us. He said we could return it. They promised that would have him call the next day as he wasn't at the work the day we tried to return it. That was months ago and NO response We will not be purchasing product this company again. Terrible customer service.
Paul installed solid maple hardwood throughout the main floor of my home and up the stairs, and was wonderful to work with. The floor is beautiful - a work of art that I will enjoy for decades to come. I had many people in my home during a recent renovation but Paul was my favourite by far - he was careful, with great attention to detail in his work, and also very respectful of my home. I trusted him completely. He was a great communicator - asking me when there were decisions to be made, and providing good information to help me make informed choices. He was also great at problem solving and was focused and hard working too. 5 stars and then some.Shauna helped me choose products, gave me good advice, and patiently talked me through the exact process of updating my staircase when I had questions. I really appreciated her help and kindness too.
We had hardwood flooring installed by Parkland in March 2024. Our experience was 5 star. John helped us choose the flooring and went over and above to make sure it was exactly what we wanted. Paul installed the floor. We had been told by another company that there would be problems replacing the hardwood however Paul had solutions for those problems and installed the hardwood perfectly! We are so pleased with the final product!
The Good Stuff:-Lots of selection to choose from, direct you in selection and at the beginning sales rep was helpful. The Bad Stuff:-Flooring installed over 5 months ago and still do no have a carpet transition they forgot to install on 2 attempts to finish the job-Flooring buckling and attempted fix made it worse by cutting existing pieces and breaking the stair nosing and attempting to glue it back together-LVT installed has bad colour variation to which they claimed the manufacturer allows for a 5-10% difference however this is more than a 5-10% colour variance and do not show any colour variance on sales floor sample. Could of installed off colour pieces in a discrete area like under a washing machine, vanity, etc instead of the middle of the room-Asked about the guarantee they offer to replace your floor if you don’t love it but was denied because I’m not a retail customer. We built through a home builder.-No idea when anyone is coming back to finish the floor and fix the existing issues they made worse-Ignored by sales agent, store manager and owner at attempting to resolve or get dates for finishing----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------UPDATE: After a year and a half...The LVT was attempted patch but every box has a different dye lot. After a few attempts they replaced it all. Nailed my pocket door open and made a mess of my wall and baseboards though. Since has been repaired. Nothing about it came easy. Everything had to be pushed to get done. The carpet transition was finally installed however, was done very poorly (dented) and has not been replaced. The laminate flooring is still buckling and Robert advised it’s due to the weight of my kitchen table to which I argued everyone has a kitchen table. He also blamed it on the weight of the countertop as I have waterfall edges. The buckling is in the foyer so I’m not sure how or why the kitchen would affect it but this is the answer I received. This also happen before possession so no little time in between. There is also a hump at the patio door. Same explanation provided. Mine and other contrators opinions, more likely floor was not scrapped properly before install.Robert has been attempted to be fixed the buckling so I will give them that however every time they made it worse or broke something else. Unfortunately it gets worse or they break something else on every attempt though. See the pics with the yellow glue and the drywall that has been caulked to fix.New discovery is the carpet is easily lift able in the bedrooms. A reducer was used and nothing is tucked under it as the carpet is cut right where the reducer starts. (This has now been fixed).Hopefully this helps.
