Initially my experience was pretty neutral. I hired Jakob because he was thorough and seemed knowledgeable to restore my front room and 3 bedrooms.
Juan was polite but didn’t bother to tape off rooms that weren’t being done, so I had dust on every surface in my kitchen and bathroom.
It’s been 6 months and my floors are already starting to fall apart- which was not an issue I had prior to the “restore” being done.
During Jakobs first visit to my home to get a quote he told me that small cracks and dents would be filled with woodfiller and larger gouges and cracks would be filled with epoxy. Woodfiller was slathered across the whole floor and no epoxy was used. I trusted that an expert would know what product was best. Well, 6 months later and the woodfiller is crumbling away and my floors in all three bedrooms and hallway look worse than prior to the job being done, with the exception of the orange tint(from old oil based stain) being gone.
I noticed some rough spots immediately following the completion of the restore and Jakob said it was normal and that it would smooth out with use. I had concerns that there wasn’t enough top coat on it and he told me he could have another layer added at an additional charge but it probably wouldn’t make a difference.
When I reached out to him about the woodfiller crumbling and my floors now being rougher than prior to the job, Jakob gave me the excuse that it was normal with old hardwood and suggested I try epoxy but said that might not work either. (Why was epoxy not used in the first place?) I further addressed my concerns with him and he never responded.
I spent over $4,000 for my hardwood to be refinished and now my floors are rough and uncomfortable to walk on barefoot. I’m left trying to figure out how to protect and save my hardwood from further damage.

I would absolutely avoid hiring Jakob and Juan for your homes hardwood refinishing project.

I keep forgetting to say- Jakob and his team did so great. They were attentive, kind, fast, and patient with my comfort and decision making time. My front room was refinished, and floors added and old carpets taken out of my bedrooms in my bungalow. He matched the new and the old wood so beautifully and it’s seamless. The team helped me pick a color stain after installation while I was traveling and I came home to a beautiful space.

Price is great, communication great, work was beautiful, timing was prompt, and the space was clean and taken care of. Call these guys. They’re good humans doing great work!

We had Jakob's tile team (Victor and Jose) come and help us finish what started out as a DIY job. We had plans to finish the heated flooring and tile ourselves, but knew that it was above our skill level, so we called Jakob for a quote and he was very responsive and came out to us quickly. The turnaround time on the quote was also quick, within a day or two. His team was able to use all the supplies we had already purchased (tile, grout, mortar, Schluter heated flooring supplies, etc.) and whatever else we needed was included in the quote with labor. We felt the price was very reasonable for the great quality of their work. They came out that next week and were very friendly, quick workers, and kept the areas clean. It was a 3 day job and they finished within the 3 days, and showed up on time everyday. We are very happy with the end result, and will definitely use Moose Flooring for our future flooring needs! We highly recommend them, they are great! (We did the baseboards ourselves, so if you see flaws in those, that is not Moose Flooring's work ??)

Let me tell you about Christian - he's the guy who refinished my hardwood floors and did an amazing job. From start to finish, he was a total pro. Friendly and easy to work with, but also really knowledgeable and passionate about what he's doing.

He took the time to walk me through every step of the process and made sure I was happy with everything before moving on. Refinishing your floors is a big deal and I feel like a lot of contractors forget that. When it was all said and done, my floors looked so good. The finish was satin, which Jakob the owner of the company, recommended. They looked brand new even though they are probably 80 years old.

Honestly, I can't recommend Christian and Jakob enough. If you need someone to refinish your floors and you want a job well done, Moose Flooring is the way to go.
